Omis is a true representative of Mediterranean and Dalmatian cuisine. Aside from great wine, Dalmatian smoked ham, grilled fish and dishes under the lid, there are two dishes worth mentioning: First, is Soparnik, an appetizing pie filled with Swiss chard (blitva in Croatian). It originally comes from Omiš, and many consider it a great and healthy alternative to pizza. It is best served with red wine. The second, that many consider to be the number one specialty in Omis is definately the Cetina trout, which is usually coocked, baked, or fried after being sprinkeled with corn flour.
